Yale Student Tests Negative for Ebola; CDC Confirmation Awaited

Editor's update: Yale has announced that the grad student tested negative for Ebola, and says CDC confirmation is being sought as part of an "overabundance of caution." “We have received preliminary notification that the patient admitted to Yale-New Haven Hospital late last night has tested negative for Ebola,” said Dr. Thomas Balcezak, the hospital’s chief medical officer, in a statement Thursday afternoon, according to the New Haven Register. “Due to an overabundance of caution, before we fully rule it out, we will wait for the CDC official confirmation of the test result.
