Final preparations are underway before the start of the 2013 Durham Fair. Tents are being installed, a rollercoaster is set up, barns are ready for the animals and various exhibits and souvenir booths from around New England are getting ready for the town’s four-day showcase, which will kick off its 94th year on Thursday, officials said. Orange Country Fair Continues Sunday; Toddlers Driving?

Still coming up at the Orange Country Fair today is the Men's Hay Bale Toss at 1 p.m., The Navels performing oldies, Rock and Country music, 5 in the Chamber performing Bluegrass, the homing pigeon race, the Pork Chop Pig Racing, a toddler "driving" contest, birds of prey, and the "largest snake and reptile exhibit in the East." And that doesn't even mention all the rides, games and fair food in a fair that makes this the most looked-forward-to weekend of the year in town, according to First Selectman James Zeoli, who's also responsible for the fair's pulled pork sandwiches.
