Run for the Roses in Litchfield

Run for the Roses in Litchfield

Celebrate the “greatest two minutes in sports” at The Litchfield Saltwater Grille's Derby Day Party on Saturday. The fetivities start at 5, with a menu of southern comfort-food treats like bourbon-infused pulled-pork sliders, fried chicken with white gravy and shrimp po’ boys—and mint julep specials all night long. Guests can watch the big race live at 6 on a big screen, and feel the heart-pounding excitement of watching 20 magnificent thoroughbreds thunder around the track. Not one to leave any tradition unturned, SWG is also offering its famous Kentucky Derby Bourbon Pecan Pie (and other special desserts for the day)—and prizes will be given in the Derby Day hat contest.

Litchfield Saltwater Grille, 26 Commons Dr., Litchfield, 860/567-4900, litchfieldsaltwatergrille.org.
