Bar Crawl

From dives to clubs to pubs, here are my top ten bars in the state, in no particular order.
1. The Scorpion Bar, Foxwoods. The Scorpion Bar has go-go dancers, Gothic-style decor and live entertainment/DJs, not to mention top-of-the-line tequila. At only a year old, it has quickly cemented itself as one of the best bars in the state, and definitely one of my favorites.
2. Rookies Sports Bar & Grille, Cromwell. Rookies is the ultimate sports bar. With 70 TVs, you can catch virtually any game while you throw back a few beers. And you've gotta try their buffalo wings--they're some of the best I've ever had.
3. La Boca, Middletown. By day this is an excellent Mexican restaurant; by night, a fiesta! The drink specials can't be beat, with $2.75 drafts for "Pour Man's Monday" and two-for-one well drinks and $5 margaritas for "Ladies Night" on Saturday.
4. Lenny's Cafe, Wallingford. A true dive bar, Lenny's is frequented by regulars and has a nostalgic feel, with walls lined with interesting sports and pop-culture memorabilia from years past. Anytime I visit, I feel right at home.
5. Archie Moore's, Wallingford. Yes, the wings are famous and well worth a visit, but the bar is great too. They've been around since 1898, so it's safe to say they know what they're doing. I love the Wallingford location because it looks out on the center of town and makes for great people-watching.
