White-Tailed Kite in Stratford

White-Tailed Kite in Stratford

Scott Kruitbosch

Birders, take note. A white-tailed kite has been spotted in Stratford Point, the first recorded sighting of the bird in the state (with few ever reported in the Northeast). It was first seen on Aug. 1st, and is still in the area as of today. Even if you're not a bird expert, it's still worth checking out in action!

The Connecticut Audubon Society's blog has tons of great details and pictures. Check it out here.

About This Blog

Even in a small state like Connecticut, there's always something new to learn, see and do. Is it a roadside oddity or a beach you didn't know existed? Could it be a country inn you've heard good things about or a quiet stretch of road in foliage country. Learn about it here, or tell others about your own discoveries.
