A Fun Day to Shop

Get some tips from the experts this Saturday (Jan. 28) at Fairway market in Stamford. From 11 to 3 some colorful personalities will emege from behind the scenes to share some their tricks of the trade. Master Butcher Ray Venezia will demonstrate how to cook a perfect porterhouse steak, for example, and seafood director Tony Maltese will be discussing fish-preparation techniques, and doing a demo (with samples!) of his Buffalo Shrimp recipe. Also on hand will be cheesemonger Steve Jenkins, produce guy Peter Romano, and master coffee roaster Benny Lanfranco. (Yes, Fairway roasts its own beans.)

Fairway Market, 699 Canal Street, Stamford, fairwaymarket.com.
