Blue Ribbon Fairs

Blue Ribbon Fairs

It’s fair season in Connecticut! We wait all year long to see prize-winning pumpkins, pies and pigs at fairs all over the state. The fun includes old-fashioned horse pulls, midway rides, musical entertainment and traditional fair food from funnel cakes to the state’s signature steamed cheeseburgers. Connecticut's Bristol Old Tyme Fiddlers zing the strings at the Bethlehem Fair Sept. 9-11. And KC and the Sunshine Band, Blues Traveler and Steel Magnolia heat up the main stage at the Durham Fair (the state’s largest agricultural fair) Sept. 22-25. Most fairs raise money for worthwhile causes, with much of the work done by dedicated volunteers, another reason to get out there and support them. For a complete list of fairs and further information, visit ctfairs.org.
