Taste of New Canaan Stroll Tonight for Great Cause Sounds Like 4-Star Event
Strolling around lovely New Canaan center, sampling tasty treats and taking advantage of bargains at shops and businesses, and having a chance to win such prizes as $200 for dinner for two at Elm, a Mason leather slim briefcase from Jack Spade and a $1,200 necklace from L'Armoire--what could be better on a nice late summer evening. It sounds like a 4-star event.
And one of the best parts is that it benefits the New Canaan Food Bank, and the price of admission is just a generous food donation.
"The Taste of the Town Stroll is an eating-drinking-shopping-fundraising extravaganza that happens all across New Canaan," says the website of the New Canaan Chamber of Commerce, which is presenting the event. "Businesses around New Canaan annually open their doors one night to people looking for a tasty snack, a beverage, and a bargain. What’s the price of participation at over 25+ stores? A donation of canned foods to the New Canaan Food Pantry."
"Take advantage of the deals, snacks and drinks, and while you’re at it make a difference in someone’s life. The New Canaan Food Pantry services residents of New Canaan in need of assistance," says the site, which has all the details you need to know to connect.
Meanwhile, an anchor of New Canaan's rich wine-and-dining scene, Franco's Wine Merchant, is just one of the many sybaritic businesses excited about tonight's event:
