With the nation set to pause Jan. 20 to observe the birthday of the Civil Rights leader (he was born Jan. 15, 1929), a group of approximately 14 students in Simsbury, working as the MLK in CT Memorial Committee, continues to work to spread the word that King spent two summers working on a tobacco farm in Simsbury.
