Bring the family to experience two new traveling exhibits at the Connecticut Science Center this summer.

Mindbender Mansion (presented by Travelers) and The Adventures of MR. POTATO HEAD® (presented locally by Citizens Bank) will run through August 31 in the Saint Francis Care Traveling Exhibit Gallery on the science center’s fourth floor.

Mindbender Mansion will take visitors on a brain-teasing trip through each room of the "mansion." challenging them to solve four different puzzles: Amazing Maze, Feeding Frenzy, Spelling Fever and Flying Machine.

The Amazing Maze (right) is a version of the classic steel-ball labyrinth game where visitors work together to tilt the table and guide the ball into a series of holes as quickly as possible.

The Feeding Frenzy will create some kitchen mayhem when visitors attempt to fill TV dinner trays on a fast-moving conveyor belt.

Hopscotch meets Scrabble in Spelling Fever, where children have to hop on illuminated letter squares in an attempt to spell words correctly.

In the final game, teams must work together to maneuver a mechanical flying machine around a game board to hit a series of targets.

In the Adventures of MR. POTATO HEAD® exhibit, children will be able to meet the lovable potato in person.

They will join him on the S.P.U.D. (Space Potatoes United for Discovery) space station where they can control their own journey from the commander’s chair, use the intergalactic translator, explore the galaxy and conduct their own experiments.

In SPUD QUEST, children will decipher “tatoglyphs”, solve mazes, use special maps to explore the treasure chamber and excavate an archeological dig site to uncover fun artifacts from King Tato’s past.

Ocean explorer Jacques Coustato will take visitors on an underwater adventure on SPUD OVERBOARD. Children will build reefs, meet friendly sea creatures and enjoy simulated snorkeling adventures.

SPUD SAFARI will take visitors into the jungle with MR. POTATO HEAD. Guests will gain new perspectives when they use special lenses and cameras to see the world through the eyes of silly birds, bugs and animals.
