Starbucks Says Guns No Longer Welcome in Cafes But Not Technically Banned

An Associated Press story published online by the New Haven Register says guns are no longer welcome in Starbucks cafes, but that Starbucks stopped short of imposing an outright ban on firearms.

"The fine line that the retailer is walking to address the concerns of both gun rights and gun control advocates reflects how heated the issue has become, particularly in light of recent mass shootings," the story says, going on to quote Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz saying the national coffee chain is now asking customers not to bring weapons into cafes because guns in stores "have made our customers uncomfortable.”
