The Old Q Bridge in New Haven Ready for Demolition

The Old Q Bridge in New Haven Ready for Demolition

Work crews are preparing for a traffic shift on the Q-Bridge July 26-28, 2013.

Goodbye, old bridge.

We made it past 50 years together — longer than anyone expected — but it’s time for you to go.

The breakup won’t be easy. But we’ve been dividing our attention between two bridges for a while now, and it’s time to devote ourselves completely to the shiny new Pearl Harbor Memorial Bridge.

Take a spin on the span at Indy speed.

Yes, old bridge, you’re going to the scrap heap. Sorry. That’s the way it is.

This weekend’s project, shifting traffic on Interstate 95 southbound from the old bridge to the new, may not cause heartache, but it could cause some headaches. Thankfully, the pain will only last the weekend.
