Apparently Governor Dannel P. Malloy's defense of the Obama administration's policies within earshot of the White House has paid off -- with a visit from the Commander in Chief himself.

Senate President Don Williams Won't Seek Re-Election

State Senate President Don Williams, D-Brooklyn, announced today he will not seek re-election. Williams has served in the state senate since 1993, and as senate president since 2004.  “After serving 10 years as President Pro Tempore of the State Senate, I look forward to pursuing other challenges at the end of this term,” Williams said in a press release. “It has been a great privilege and honor to serve the people of our state and my constituents in the great northeastern corner of Connecticut. Round Two of Malloy v. Jindal Starts on Twitter

An argument between Gov. Bobby Jindal, R-La. and Gov. Dannel P. Malloy, which began steps from the White House, took to Twitter and cable news Tuesday, following Jindal's assessment of President Barack Obama's hope to raise the minimum wage as creating an American "minimum-wage economy." Jindal made the comment at a press conference Monday, where members of the National Governor's Association stood to brief reporters on their series of meetings at the White House throughout the weekend. Malloy quickly took to the mic after Jindal's comments—prompting another rebuff from Jindal.  But apparently that back and forth wasn't enough for either governor, who both then spoke on the issues with cable news and directly at each other on Twitter....

A news conference meant to brief reporters on bipartisan talks between the nation’s governors and President Barack Obama disintegrated into partisan squabbling Monday, with Gov. Dannel P. Malloy jumping into the fray to push back against Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal.

Presidential Popular Vote Gets Support of Gov. Malloy, Senate President

An act being discussed by the General Assembly to support an multi-state pact to elect the president by a national vote gained the support of Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman Monday.
