Jeb Bush to Keynote Prescott Bush Dinner

Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush will be the keynote speaker at the Prescott Bush Awards Dinner, the Connecticut GOP fundraiser named after Bush's grandfather.

The state Republican party announced Bush's appearance Tuesday. The dinner is April 10 at the Stamford Hilton. Bush is the son of former President George H.W. Bush and the brother of former President George W. Bush. Prescott Bush, George H.W. Bush's father, was a U.S. Senator from Connecticut.

Jeb Bush also headlined the dinner in 2003.

Bush, rumored as a potential candidate for president in 2016, was the first governor in Florida history to serve two full terms.

Connecticut GOP chairman  Jerry Labriola, Jr. praised Bush in a news release issued by the party.

“Governor Bush is a proven leader with an impressive record of public service," Labriola said. "As Governor, he improved the quality of life for Floridians by transforming education, fostering a robust economy and cutting nearly $20 billion in taxes. As a member of the Republican Party, he has worked tirelessly to support candidates and advance our shared conservative principles.”
