Filing Deadline for Candidates, Committees Today
Today is the filing deadline for any and all candidate and exploratory committees, political committees, town committees and state central committees.
So far, two Connecticut candidates for governor have released numbers on fundraising.
Shelton Mayor Mark Lauretti who only entered the race as a candidate at the end of last month has raised $1,200 so far.
State Senate Minority Leader John McKinney says he raised $101,080 from 1,109 donors in this quarter, for a total of $134,167.
McKinney's campaign sent out a press release boasting that his fundraising had outpaced all other candidates. Campaign spokesman Michael Fox said that while they haven't seen the actual reports from other candidates, "there's pretty good intel out there, so we're confident in the claim that we've made."
After expenditures, gubernatorial candidate Joseph Visctonti has $29.56 for his campaign, according to the documents he filed.
Exploratory candidates for Governor include state Rep. Toni Boucher and Ambassador Tom Foley. Neither of their campaign filings are currently available on the state’s election website.
The filing deadline is 11:59 p.m. if candidates send them electronically. This campaign filing covers donations and expenditures made by campaigns and committees from October 1 through December 31 of 2013.Filing Deadline for Candidates, Committees Today
