Connecticut Democrats to Hold Nominating Convention at Convention Center

The state Democratic Party is holding its nominating convention in May at the Connecticut Convention Center, the party announced today, hoping to continue their Democratic hold on the state's chief offices.

The Democrats will nominate their candidates for governor, lieutenant governor, secretary of the state, state treasurer, comptroller and attorney general at the convention on May 16. 

“The 2014 Democratic State Convention will bring together Democrats from all corners of Connecticut to continue to build the Party, hear from outstanding Democratic leaders and nominate a slate of candidates that will continue to move Connecticut forward,” said Nancy DiNardo, chairwoman of the Connecticut Democratic Party in a news release.

Republicans are holding their convention the same day and extending to to Saturday, holding it at Mohegan Sun.
