5 Candidates Confirmed for GOP Debate; Tom Foley Not One of Them

As of late Monday night, five of the six candidates invited to the Republican gubernatorial primary debate Sunday in Brookfield have confirmed they're attending. The only one who hasn't? Tom Foley, the GOP's nominee against Gov. Dannel P. Malloy in 2010.

The Brookfield Republican Town Committee, which is hosting the debate at Brookfield High School, said in a news release late Monday that state Sen. Toni Boucher of Wilton, Danbury Mayor Mark Boughton, Shelton Mayor Mark Lauretti, state Senate Minority Leader John McKinney of Fairfield and former West Hartford town councilor Joe Visconti have all accepted the RTC's invite to participate.

The RTC said Foley had yet to accept the invitation, but would be given until the day of the debate to accept.
