Former Sen. Chris Dodd’s campaign may have been a recipient of illegal campaign contributions from a man who pleaded guilty Thursday to making $180,000 in illegal contributions and witness tampering, Politico reports.

Sant Chatwal pleaded guilty Thursday to illegal campaign contributions—and although court papers don’t identify whom he donated the funds to—sources told Politico the donations were made to Hillary Clinton’s 2008 presidential campaign, Rep. Kendrick Meek’s 2010 Senate Campaign and Dodd’s campaign.

According to Politico, a press release distributed by the Department of Justice said, “There is no allegation that the candidates participated in, or were aware of Chatwal’s scheme.”

Dodd served as a Democratic senator from 1981 to 2011. He is now the head of the Motion Picture Association of America.
