Stamford native and contemporary saxophonist Marion Meadows and trumpeter Cindy Bradley kick off Southern Connecticut State University’s Lyman Center for the Performing Arts Fall Jazz Series on Friday, Sept. 27 in New Haven.

With the music billed as “smooth jazz,” expect the unexpected from these kinetic performers. Both artists have recorded albums with well-known jazz producer Mike Boening. Meadows will include selections from his latest album Whispers and Bradley will perform hits from her blues- and funk-infused album Unscripted.

The series continues with concerts by Boney James on Oct. 26, Acoustic Alchemy on Nov. 16 and Najee & Alex Bugnon on Dec. 7.  Subscription tickets are available. For tickets & further information, call 203/392-6154 or visit southernct.edu/lyman/index.html/.
