Get Spooked at the Haunted Isle!
If you’re ready to get into gear for some Halloween fright, put on your galoshes and hop aboard The Shoreline Trolley in East Haven and take a wild ride to the Haunted Isle through Oct. 26 (Fri. & Sat. only). After the trolley drops you off in the woods, it’s time to fend for yourself on foot on a three-quarter-mile trail of horror.
A cast of 100 fright masters portrays characters gone wild in Bizarro World-style vignettes from The Wizard of Oz, The Strangers and a Christmas from hell. A deranged butcher chases after unsuspecting victims (the “lucky” ones get to sneak a peek of him chopping up body parts in his shop).
But what’s creepier than a demented clown?—In this case, a gang of them crawling through the woods to scare the living daylights out of you. Then If you dare, enter the haunted house deep in the forest here, but don’t trust anything, not even the pictures on the walls.
It takes 45 minutes to complete the course, and not everyone can go the distance (refunds are not available). This is not recommended for the faint of heart or for children under 10 (take the kiddies on a ride to The Pumpkin Patch here, instead, through Oct. 27). And be prepared to wait up to two hours in line, or go to the head of the line by purchasing express tickets online or at the door.
Admission $10 for all ages, are available online or at the door. Express tickets $20, may be purchased online only. For further information, call 203/476-6927 or visit shorelinetrolley.org.Get Spooked at the Haunted Isle!
