Connecticut Olympian Tucker West of Ridgefield may not have won a medal in Sochi, Russia, but some in the media are giving his father, Brett, an honorary gold for his performance.

Seems that dad announced to the world on the "Today Show" Sunday that his 6’1” teenage son with All-American good looks is a very eligible bachelor, though a little shy.

The pitch from his dad drew this response from Tucker on Twitter:

Meanwhile, the media covering the Olympics was buzzing with the story online, with a Sports Illustrated post noting how cool it was that Brett West built an 800-foot luge track in the backyard for Tucker—and declaring how Brett is “officially in the running for Dad of the Year” for put the word out for all the single ladies out there.

SI says Tucker finished 22nd overall in the luge, and nine spots behind top American luger Christopher Mazdzer.

On Twitter, Tucker looks forward to 2018.
