Summer Artists-in-Residence Unveil their Work

Summer Artists-in-Residence Unveil their Work

"Cara" (English Red pastel pencil on tan paper, image about 14"x12") by Greg Shea

The Art League of New Britain has supported visual artists for more than 75 years. Artists gather here to create, socialize and show their work. On Aug. 23 a reception will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. to mark the culmination of work by the league's impressive summer artists-in-residence, Greg Shea and Cindy Bassett.

Greg and Cindy have been working in the same studio space for the past six weeks focusing primarily on figure drawings. They displayed their intricately detailed work as they created it so people could drop by and see the pieces as they progressed, ask questions and watch them at work. Now the stunning completed works will be on view; the artists will also be on hand to visit with patrons.

The exhibit may also be seen by appointment. For Further information, call (860-229-1484 or visit
